Detailed ReviewAsus Zephyrus G14 Alan WalkerASUS ROG Zephyrus G15

Design & Features

Asus Zephyrus G14 Alan Walker- ROG designers and personally Alan Walker worked not only on accessories. The appearance of the Zephyrus G14 AW SE is very different from the original Zephyrus G14. Black stripes of fabric appeared on the laptop’s cover, on which calls were embroidered to join the gaming republic and join the “walkers” or “Walkers.” Something like this can be translated as Walkers, which Alan Walker’s fans call themselves.

The fabric stripes on the lid show a shiny bar with the Republic of Gamers logo and Alan’s autograph. This is another sign of the collaboration between the gaming brand and the musician.

The display uses a 14-inch WQHD liquid crystal display (2560 x 1440 pixels, screen occupancy rate 85%, DCI-P3 100%, 120Hz, non-glare). In addition, the top of the main unit has a built-in “AniMe Matrix display” consisting of 1215 ultra-small LEDs.

The speaker is a quad system of 1W x 2 and 0.7W x 2. The webcam is omitted, but it has a built-in array microphone at the top of the display. The interface is USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-C (data transfer, video output, power supply compatible) x 1, USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-C (data transfer compatible) x 1, USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-A x 2, HDMI x 1, 3.5 Equipped with mm audio combo jack x 1. The communication function supports Wi-Fi 6 (11ax) and Bluetooth 5.1.

The primary body size is 324 x 222 x 19.9 to 20.9 mm, and the weight is about 1.75 kg. It has a built-in lithium polymer battery with a design capacity of 75998 mWh (confirmed by the Battery report command). The battery drive time is about 12.8 hours, and the battery charging time is about 2.3 hours.

This product’s unique bundled items are “ROG x Alan Walker GA401QEC Sleeve”, “ROG x Alan Walker Baseball Cap,” “ROG x Alan Walker Socks,” and “ROG Remix-Special Box with Mixer Function” (Special) package). They are limited editions only for unique collaboration models, so you should get them if you are a fan of Alan Walker.

ASUS ROG Zephyrus G15 series is characterized by a rounded and simple design. Still, the top plate has 8279 dot holes, and the colorful film inside is glittering and rainbow by adjusting the reflection of light. The design that glitters in color is very excellent.

The secret weapon of the G15 is its processor. All models are equipped with AMD’s huge 8-core AMD Ryzen 9 5900HS. My test model costs $ 1,799.99 and combines this chip with Nvidia’s new GeForce RTX 3070 (80W version, with up to 100W dynamic boost), 16GB of RAM, and 1TB of storage.

According to Asus, the G15 has a desktop-inspired layout with separate keys for controlling volume, switching mics, and raising Armory Crate.

Another highlight on all models is the G15’s 165Hz QHD display. This year, 15-inch laptops with QHD screens have finally begun to appear all at once. This shows that it is the first year that manufacturers consider mobile hardware powerful enough to take advantage of them. Traditionally, mobile gamers have the option of a 1080p display or a 4K display. (Not only is the latter costly, but few laptops can run demanding games at 4K playable frame rates.)

All games look great on this screen, covering 100% of the sRGB color gamut and 89% of Adobe RGB, with a maximum brightness of 334 knits. This isn’t the best refresh rate screen you can get at 165Hz — there’s a 240Hz QHD model similar to the Razer’s Blade 15 Advanced, MSI’s GS66 stealth, but it’s still well above the Zephyrus G14’s 120Hz display. The G15 doesn’t provide the best image, but it still looks excellent and improves the G14’s 1080p panel. All the movements were smooth, the stutters weren’t visible, and the colors were great.

Conclusion!

ASUS ROG G14 AW SE is a logical attempt to develop the direction of gaming laptops to make them more versatile and pop. The power of fast processors, graphic card, and speakers can be used for games and processing photos, videos, and sounds. This is the truth that needs to be conveyed to a mass audience; ROG arranged a collaboration with famous DJ Alan Walker.

ASUS ROG Zephyrus G15 model equipped with RTX 3080 at the maximum, and the CPU is equipped with AMD Ryzen 5000 HS processor with high performance and suppressed TDP and LCD compatible with WQHD 165Hz. It has a wide color gamut and can be used for games and creative work.
