HP ProBook x360 435 G8 Notebook 360° Flip Review

HP has been releasing the ProBook line of notebooks aimed at business users since 2009, and it has established itself as a dependable solution for everyday work. 

The HP ProBook x360 is ideal for professionals seeking a robust mobile solution. This small 13-inch convertible laptop has a powerful processor, plenty of RAM, a convenient touch screen, and many valuable features for productive work and enjoyable relaxation. And, thanks to its adaptable design, it can quickly adapt to any task – it can be used as a regular laptop or unfolded in tablet mode for the most comfortable work and play.

Let’s take a closer look at the HP ProBook x360 435 G8 (32M35EA) with an AMD Ryzen TM 5 5600U processor to see how it handles everyday tasks what it has to offer.

The HP ProBook X360 435 G8 has a delicate design with an all-aluminum chassis that is brushed and rough. The back cover does have the HP logo with a glossy edging and a small stripe to match the case, under which the wireless modules’ antennas are hidden.


The laptop case is 308.5 x 222.9 x 17.9 mm and weighs 1.45 kg it is small and light enough for on-the-go use.

The laptop has a 13.3-inch touchscreen display with protective glass; the upper and lower frames are quite large, but the device raises the matrix to a comfortable working height, and the product comes with two directional microphones, a webcam, and an infrared sensor for the Windows Hello face recognition system. By the way, the camera has a shutter for privacy.

The screen hinge allows the laptop to expand 360 degrees, converting it into a tablet. Aside from that, during normal office work, you may change the display’s angle of inclination in a wide range. At the same time, the hinge secures the display unit lid extremely effectively, despite the fact that it is relatively hefty due to the metal and glass.

The laptop has a 13.3-inch touchscreen display with an IPS matrix, a resolution of 1920 1080 pixels, and a 16: 9 aspect ratio. The screen rotates 360 degrees, allows multi-touch recognition, and has a broad viewing angle.

According to our observations, the display matrix covers 65% of the sRGB colour space, the gamma is 2.2, the colour reproduction is fairly good, although the colour temperature is cooler, at 7300K. The maximum brightness, according to our measurements, is 298.4 cd / m2, which is sufficient for pleasant work indoors but may not be sufficient outside on a sunny day.

The screen of the HP ProBook X360 435 G8 typically fits to the device’s placement as a laptop for working with a browser, email, and documents; for these tasks, the matrix’s quality is more than enough. It is enjoyable to work with for an extended period of time, and it is also well suited for watching multimedia information.

The AMD Ryzen TM 5 5600U 6-core mobile CPU, launched earlier this year, lies at the heart of the laptop. The chip is manufactured on a 7-nanometer process, works at a frequency of 2.3-4.2 Hz, and has a nominal TDP of 15 watts.

An integrated AMD Radeon TM Graphics solution with 512MB of dedicated DDR4 memory clocked at 1.8GHz handles graphics processing.

The ProBook X360 435 G8’s performance with the AMD Ryzen TM 5 5600U processor is excellent for a compact notebook. This chip scores 5,196 points on the PCMark 10 test, which is an excellent performance for this class of gadget. In practise, the user may expect good work speed even for more demanding activities than office work, such as picture or video processing.

The integrated AMD Radeon TM Graphics earns 840 points in the 3DMark Time Spy test, which is a respectable performance for integrated video. This does not allow you to play contemporary games at high settings, but it does significantly speed up graphics-intensive programmes. If you want to take a vacation from work, the laptop can handle classic gaming hits.

The ProBook X360 435 G8’s ports are all on the side edges. On the right, you’ll find a proprietary charging connector, USB Type-C (10 Gb / s) with DisplayPort compatibility, USB Type-A (5 Gb / s), HDMI, a 3.5 mm headphone socket, and a microSD card slot.

A Kensington lock and another USB Type-A connector (5 Gb / s) are located on the case’s left side.

In general, there are enough connectors on the laptop to allow for comfortable work.

Apart from the plastic keys and touchpad, the base with the keyboard is also constructed of aluminium. The metal is fairly thick and does not flex while typing or pushed to hard pressure.

The HP ProBook X360 435 G8 is intended primarily for business users. As a result, it has both software data security through disc encryption in Windows 10 Pro and hardware for system access, and both at the same time.

The laptop employs the Windows Hello facial recognition system, which is based on an infrared dot projector and an integrated camera. However, if the user wishes to keep the camera closed at all times, there is a separate shutter for this, and you can also enter the system using the fingerprint scanner, which is placed under the keyboard on the right side of the casing.

Both options perform nicely, instantly detecting the user’s face and fingerprint and allowing you to log in to your account.

The laptop has an audio system consisting of two speakers positioned above the keyboard; they are pretty capable and allow you to comfortably play videos or listen to music.

Headphones can be connected to the HP ProBook X360 435 G8 both wired and wirelessly using a standard 3.5 mm port.


The laptop was equipped with a backlit island-style keyboard. The keys are large enough for blind typing and have a nice smooth travel. The layout is common for tiny devices and doesn’t take long to get use to it.

The top row of function keys is coupled with quick setting buttons, which let you to change screens, modify display brightness, key backlighting, and reduce and raise sound volume. However, there is one customizable button that may be configured to start applications, directories, webpages, or files.

HP also included an app that temporarily disables the touchscreen, keyboard, and touchpad so the user may clean them.

The touchpad of the ProBook X360 435 G8 is average in size, but HP utilised a Precision driver panel; the touchpad detects finger location quite well and supports basic Windows 10 motions.
