Polar Vantage V2 vs Polar Vantage M: What is the Difference

Polar Vantage V2 vs Polar Vantage M

The Vantage V2 is one of the newest smartwatches on the market, and the last one that Polar launched. This was made official in mid-October as a smartwatch with dedicated functions and aimed at athletes and sportsmen, with an integrated GPS and many other fitness features. The Vantage M is a model with a long time on the shelves, having been launched about two years ago. However, this last-mentioned terminal has many points of comparison with the Vantage V2, which is why in this new comparison we put them face to face.

To begin with, as the manufacturer is used to, the design of these smartwatches is practically the same, except for slight details and the keypads they presume, which in the case of the Vantage V2 is flat and in that of the Vantage M it is composed of circular buttons that stick out a bit. The straps they come with are also different. Of the rest, they can be confused with the naked eye.

In terms of screens, we have the same 1.2-inch circular panel for both the Polar Vantage V2 and the Vantage M. This is transflective TFT LCD technology, so it is in color, as well as touch, and produces a resolution of 240 x 240 pixels. Although it is not OLED, the Always-on Display function is not conspicuous by its absence.

The connectivity options are the same for both smartwatches. Here we have Bluetooth LE, integrated GPS with A-GPS and GLONASS for greater precision in geo-positioning functions. These watches can be synced with Android and iOS smartphones for displaying app notifications, messages and more, and controlling music playback.

Something that they lack is storage for music. The ROM they have is dedicated to storing activity and sports data.

When it comes to activity tracking, the Polar Vantage V2 and Vantage M have the same. We have an accelerometer, as well as a heart rate monitor, but this is more advanced on the Vantage V2, as it comes with more LED sensors (10, to be specific) for higher precision when making measurements.

Already in question with the activity functions , both in a smartwatch and in the other we have dozens of sports profiles to measure these , counter of calories burned, steps taken and distance traveled, training guides, information on body recovery after of each activity, breathing exercises, recommendations for activity routines, sleep monitor and more, but the Vantage V2 has a more specialized and extensive repertoire. Apart from this, the Polar Vantage V2 comes with 10 ATM (100 meters) water resistance, higher than the 3 ATM (30 meters) of the Vantage M.

We find a huge difference between these two smartwatches. The Vantage V2, being the newest and having some better features and technical specifications, has an official cost of 590 USD. The Vantage M, on the other hand, can currently be found for sale for around 230 USD and a little more.

Conclusion!

As we have been able to evidence, the Polar Vantage V2 is a better smartwatch than the Vantage M, although not by much, yes. However, its price takes it away from most pockets, so the latter is a better option unless you want a more accurate heart rate monitor and a model with more functions for tracking heart rate. activity, greater resistance to water and more battery life.
