The gaming headphones have a dark colour with flashy accents, but you can’t find this on the Razer Opus X. Well, it’s striking because the three colour options are only available in bright colours; Green, Mercury (white) and Quartz (pink). Without the Razer logo on the outer earcup, it’s plain.

To be comfortable to use, this device has a lightweight of only 270 grams. The upper part uses a soft and thick leather material, while the ear cushions are over-ear. It will cover the ear, be more soundproof outside and more comfortable for long-term use.

The ear cups of the Razer Opus X can also be rotated about 45 degrees for convenience when using, as well as being more practical when it comes to storage—by the way, Razer doesn’t provide a pouch or pouch at all in its sales package. In short, these headphones are very comfortable when used, even for hours of use.

At least if it’s been more than 1 hour, it will get a bit wet or sweat on the cushion. This device is not equipped with an IP rating, so it is only suitable for casual use.

Fortunately, the Razer Opus X already carries ANC technology. In total, there are four microphones, of which two are to drown out outside noise, and the rest are to pick up the user’s voice for telephony needs.

In total, there are three modes to choose from without ANC, ANC on, and awareness. As with other devices.

In addition to ANC, a unique gaming mode is also present and can be activated manually. The method is to press the button on the earcup directly or through a special application that can be installed on Android to iOS smartphones. Using the Bluetooth 5.0 protocol, this mode can reduce latency by up to 60ms.

To connect it to a smartphone, simply press and hold the power button when the Razer Opus X is off. The same way you would turn your device off when it was on. If you just want to turn it on and connect to the last device, press it for 2-3 seconds.

When on, press the power button once to scroll from normal/ANC/awareness mode. Above the power button, sequentially, there is volume down, play/pause and volume up buttons. The play button can also be a gaming mode shortcut when held down, and all of these buttons are on the right side of the earcup.

Audio Quality

When it comes to audio quality Razer Opus X voice tends to be flat, where no part is too dominant. Both basses, vocals to song instruments, everything sounds balanced. That way, making this one wireless headphone suitable for various genres of songs. But that doesn’t mean the bass is lacking.

If desired, you can increase the bass through the equalizer without breaking the boom. It can be from an application provided by Razer or directly from an application such as Spotify.

Battery

Battery TypeRechargeable
Battery Life30 hours ANC on
40 hours ANC off
Charging Time4 hrs
Charging PortUSB-C

One of the advantages of the headphones is their battery life, which lasts longer than a compact device like the TWS, although the total usage time may be about the same. Razer claims up to 40 hours without ANC, even 30 hours without ANC.

Connectivity

Bluetooth5.0

Conclusion!

The Razer Opus X can come as a mature choice of wireless headphones. Stylish design with attractive colours, audio quality suitable for many genres, ANC, gaming mode, and long battery life. What else are you looking for?

For those interested in gaming activities, the game mode with a latency of 60ms is still not good enough for a high response rate, and the absence of a wired audio connector is the only downside.
