So the Samsung Galaxy buds and the new Amazon echo buds are two of the latest truly wireless earbuds that have been getting a lot of attention for their excellent features their sound quality and their price. But which one is the better buy both look very similar have some very similar specs but have some very big differences in this article we will look at these earbuds side-by-side to break down the similarities and differences between these devices to help you decide which one is the best for you.

Start just with you know just looking at the outside of these products first so these two cases are very different as you can see here the echo buds are we would say about 50% larger so definitely a significantly larger case. They both have a magnetic closure right there so they snap closed and both of them have magnets to hold the buds in place so they don’t fall out the magnets are stronger on the echo buds. Both cases have an LED on them the echo buds have one LED that is used for both the buds and the case if you take the buds out and you press the button on the bottom it tells you the battery level of the case. With the buds in there, it tells you the battery level of the lowest of the two earbuds. The galaxy buds are similar you have two LEDs so one on the front one inside telling you the same information. Now the echo buds have a button on the bottom which is not explained in the instruction manual. But we’ll tell you guys right now what it is and that is essential to tell you it’ll just light up the LED tells you you know what the battery level is. So if it’s not showing that you just press the button it tells you what it is but also that button doubles as something else. If you press and hold it the LED turns blue which means you’re in pairing mode. So between the cases, we think it’s pretty obvious of the galaxy bud to win the design.
Let’s get in and talk about the actual earbuds themselves so both of these earbuds do have three different tips that they come with for the earpiece and then three different wingtips that come with the wingtips are significantly smaller. On the galaxy buds and we already lost mine so I can just show you this one right here it’s a very small little wingtip that goes in your ear and it kind of has this little ring shape there they honestly, after using these for like six months now they never fall out if you will running jumping but it doesn’t matter what you’re doing they stay in really well. Now the echo buds have a similar design with three different little ear tips three different wingtips we don’t keep the wingtips on because they’re significantly larger they stick out and they kind of get in the way in our opinion so we just took them out we found that they stay in just fine. If you don’t have that neither of these falls out of your ear, unlike the Galaxy buds. The echo buds are water-resistant so ipx4 means that you can you know if you’re sweating or if it’s raining they should be fine although we will say you will have been in the rain and sweat with these buds and you won’t have a problem but again water resistance is a nice benefit to have.

Talking about the noise cancellation the Galaxy buds have a microphone on the outside and the inside and it’s supposed to better capture your voice and cancel out the stuff around you. You will see how much that works the echo buds have two microphones instead of one on either side and they’re both just on the outside and they too provide nice noise cancellation.
Talking about some additional features both came with voice commands, voice prompts, and an accelerometer. The most up-to-date enhancements to Amazon’s smart-connected devices, and since you can visualize, it likewise gets Alexa built-in which will very helpful. Both devices come with the ambient mode but Samsung states that a few features like Ambient Aware Mode can just run on Android devices, which is a bit disappointing.

The Amazon Echo Buds come with a total of 20 hours of battery life, 5 hours of battery life with the buds, and additional 15 hours of battery life with the charging case. On the other hand, the Galaxy Buds comes with a battery life of fairly less than 13 hours of battery life, 6 hours of battery life of the buds, and 7 hours of additional battery life with the case. Both devices support quick charge and can run up to 1.8 hours on just 15 mins of charge.

Both devices work with Bluetooth version 5.0 so both of them get a very strong and solid connectivity range of 10m. The Echo buds have the support of SBC and AAC Bluetooth codecs. On the other hand, the Galaxy Buds have the support of SBC, AAC, and Samsung Scalable codecs. They both lack the support of the aptX codec which is pretty disappointing.
Which is better!
They both have good noise cancellation (on Echo you can be called it noise reduction) but the sound quality of galaxy buds is more superior to Echo buds. Also, echo buds have a fairly long battery life than Galaxy buds but the Galaxy buds have the support of more Bluetooth codecs which is very essential. So if the battery life is not a major issue for you then we suggest you should go for the Samsung Galaxy Buds.
