The case is nothing fancy, a more conventional matte black, with the SoundPeats logo engraved on the top. This gives it a generic look that could easily be mistaken for any other brand.

Weighing 45g, it’s almost imperceptible in your pocket, helped by the pear-shaped curves. Thanks to its sloping and horizontally protruding sides, it measures 64mm at its widest point. But with a height of only 36. 7mm and a depth of 23. 8mm, it fits very well in the pocket.

It remains very refined and remains really discreet. We can find the front three LED lights indicating the state of charge of the case and the remaining battery capacity. When the first light is displayed only, the case has a charge of 20% or less. If the first two are on, you have 20-70%, and if the last two are on, then it’s 70-99%. If all three are on, you are at 100% and can remove the charger case.

It can charge the headphones three times before needing mains charging, which can be done via a USB Type-C cable supplied in the box. Unfortunately, the box does not support wireless charging, which is a shame. The magnetism of the case and the hinge system are well constructed and keep it securely locked. It is easy to use it with one hand. The lip has enough groove depth to flip it open with your thumb. If you want the case to remain open, you must open beyond the notch; before this notch, the magnets snap into place and close it.

By opening the case, we fall on the atria. It’s fair to say they look pretty impressive overall. But the SoundPeats T2 is designed to stay discreet inside your ears. They’re easy to get in and out of the case, and they sit exceptionally well on the charging connectors.

The SoundPeats T2 earphones are relatively large barrel-shaped with a very short neck which provides good stability. It may be reminiscent of the design of the Buds Q2 from Realme. They don’t look exceptional at first glance, but their oval shape with a slight bump inside follows the shape of your ears and makes them comfortable to wear for hours.

The ear cups have flat, tactile backs. This will allow you to use them to skip audio tracks, adjust volume, and answer or end phone calls. You can also use them to access your phone’s voice assistant and perform even more hands-free commands. In addition, because they have a soft touch, you won’t have to worry about causing discomfort when they’re in a hurry. Regarding the materials used, we stay on plastic like many of these products.

As a bonus, it has very advanced protection against directed jets, IPX5. So don’t panic; headphones can survive bad weather and sweat.

The TrueAir2 are True Wireless headphones, with style strongly inspired by Apple’s Air Pods, simply available in black and white, which leaves a limited choice but, in the end, that will please everyone.

SoundPeats opted for an elegant case, with a matte black plastic surface pleasant to the touch, without a cheap appearance. With the square shape, the rounded edges give a first high-end and qualitative impression. We find a subtly inscribed logo on the top of the box.

In terms of autonomy, this box offers us an autonomy of 25 hours (manufacturer data) when it charges the headphones. The box is also charging by USB-C on the right side; the wireless charging mode is not present on this model.

The case opens from the upper side, and once the box is open, two small headphones are lying down. These headphones have an announced battery life of 5 hours. We notice a simple and elegant design inspired by Apple AirPods, which slip easily into the ear.

A simple installation in the ears will suffice to engage the connection mode before a small voice tells you “Power On.” Once the headphones are on and in the ears, both headphones are displayed. Indeed, unlike some other models, the SoundPeats TrueAir 2 first pair with one of the two headphones (right or left), then transmits the audio to the second, then you are asked whether or not you want to pair the two headphones.

This system of dividing right and left earbuds looks complex but is actually simpler because if you only want to use one earbud, you have to take it out, and it will connect automatically. If you later want to use the second, you have to take it out, and the earpiece will connect to the first. If this sounds practical on paper, it is a little less practical in reality since there is a lapse of several seconds between when you put the headphones in your ear, when they turn on ( “Power On”) and when it connects.

The reduction of active noise is also present. We are here on a CVC noise reduction, which is working well. This is only active noise reduction, not passive. Unfortunately, they only pick up ambient sound moderately, but even distant sounds are not heard.

T2 buds each have an internal battery that carries enough charge for 10 hours of use. That’s longer than virtually all wireless headphones on the market. In ANC mode, your performance will drop to eight hours, which is still very good. At full volume in ANC mode, you can expect around 6.5 hours. Suffice to say that these batteries are phenomenal.

Best of all, the charging case provides enough juice for an additional 30 hours of use. That means between 26 and 40 hours of battery life, depending on how hard you push your headphones. When it’s time to indict the case, it only takes a few minutes. You can go from vacuum to full in about two hours using the USB Type-C cable.

With an earphone battery life announced at 5 hours, we are more around 4:30 am throughout the test, but we can easily reach 5 hours if you only listen to music and keep your calls as low as possible. Indeed, it is rare to use your headphones for a longer period without having the opportunity to put them in their charging case. The 25 hours announced once again by the manufacturer of the case are very real. They allow sufficient battery for daily use.
