Sony 1000xm3 ANC Headphones Design

Let’s talk about the design and build quality, now the silicone materials on the Bose is up top and on the bottom side here that touches you does feel good. It serves its purpose but it doesn’t look or feel as luxurious as the faux leather that you get on these Sony 1000XM3. Despite it being fake here now looking comfortable wise these two headphones are some of the lightest for active noise-canceling headphones. You can beat a judge on which one looks better to you but both Sony and Bose both are fairly light in weight and don’t feel any fatigue during using them because of their weight. XM3’s ear cups will warm up your ears more than the Bose 700 and also with the sony’s you will feel your ears touching the inner liner as well. With the Bose, it’s just ever so slightly airier in the ear cups and you will feel as though it breathed a bit better but there was a bit more pinching at the crown of the head more weight was also at the top sensor for both. The Sony headphones just felt to evenly distribute the weight a little bit better.

Let’s talk about the controls both Bose and Sony works very intuitively. The swipe controls, volume up and down, skipping and going back on songs, and such pause and play of course with Sony anytime your music is going on. You can hold down that right ear cup and be music well pause your microphones will kick on and the environmental noises will pump in so you can hear what’s going on around you it’s pretty cool. With the Bose, you do have to press a button on the left ear cup. Sony was just a little bit more intuitive for on-the-fly awareness. Both headsets have ANC levels but that you can’t control with a physical button.

Both of these headsets offer ANC and the ANC with both headsets works quite well but Sony’s ANC is better than the Bose. Another cool feature offer with the XM3 is an adaptive ambient sound mode in which you have to put your hand on the cup to decrease the sound of the music and allow in outside noise. It’s a very useful feature that permits yourself to talk to someone without taking your headphones off. Also, both devices have support for Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant voice controls which is another cool feature.

Both of these headsets get the support of Bluetooth version 5.0 which gives both headsets a strong and stable connectivity range of 10 meters. The Bose Noise Cancelling Headphones 700 gets a 2.5mm headphone jack and, it also supports only one high-quality Bluetooth codec that is AAC, but it doesn’t support the SBC, and that is disappointing. On the other hand, the Sony WH-1000XM4 gets a 3.5mm headphone jack, which can be used for the wired connection. If we talking about the Codec support then XM3 supports SBC, AAC, and Sony’s patented LDAC codec, which is a very good thing.

Which is better!

We already told you that the XM4 model is the successor of XM3 so it is simply another generational update for Sony’s popular WH-1000XM series. In the XM4 model, the practicality and the functionality of the headphones are improved as well as it will get some new and very important features like multiple source connectivity which improves the conveniences of the user. Also, the sound quality of the XM4 is better than XM3. So we can suggest that if you have the extra 100$ to spend on headphones you should definitely choose XM4 over the XM3 because it will worth every single penny you spend on it.
