Look at Logitech’s new MX master 3s mouse, so like a lot of you, own the MX master 3, it’s worth the upgrade to the 3s, so let’s find out.
The Logitech MX Master 3S is the new update proposed by the manufacturer for its mouse focused on designers, maintaining the correct master lines of the Master 3 but adopting a rubber surface for its grip. The changes seem subtle, but they will be quite noticeable when using it, such as its 90% quieter buttons or the Darkfield sensor with up to 8,000 DPI and high precision. The main MagSpeed wheel with 1,000 lines/second, side scroll wheel, and the dedicated thumb gesture button is maintained.

Logitech MX Master 3S
This Logitech MX Master 3S maintains the same design as its predecessor, something we love for being one of the most comfortable mice to try. This is a model built for designers; hence we have a brutal tilt to the right and great height so that our hand fits perfectly with a palm-type grip. It is present in 3 color combinations of the user’s choice.
This is combined with ample measurements and 141g weight to offer a forceful and precise displacement since agility or speed for this type of task is meaningless. The grip surface is completely rubber, providing excellent comfort and padding, especially on the edges. The micro-roughening finish is completely wonderful in terms of the feel to the touch.
We start with the front area of the Logitech MX Master 3S, where we find the typical two main buttons, which will be independent of the casing and are made of plastic. Its smooth surface is slightly convex, unlike most gaming models, to fully fit the palm-type grip.
The important thing is its switches because they have been improved to eliminate up to 90% of click noise compared to the previous generation. And we can say that they are incredibly quiet, also with a pleasant padded sensation on the touch
In the central area, we have the MagSpeed electromagnetic scroll wheel, made of metal to improve the premium feel and inertia in turn. Which is the reason? Well, allow a scroll speed of up to 1000 lines per second with the precision of a pixel.
This wheel has two modes of displacement, the typical one by jumps, but improved by magnetic control, and a fully released mode, where it rotates without any limit. These modes can be alternated using the button in the central area. For us, it is the most significant difference compared to a normal mouse since the sensation of freedom and agility while browsing is unmatched and practically soundless.
We continue with the left lateral area, where we have a bulky lower flap to support the thumb. We integrate a gesture button right on edge to give us wide versatility in controlling windows, applications, etc. At the average height, we find the two small and very comfortable navigation buttons and a second metal scroll wheel above them. This one has free spin or no physical jumps, although its spin is a little harder to prevent it from acting alone.
We do not find any button on the right flank, only the rubber extension to comfortably position the little finger. The Logitech MX Master 3S‘s spine is quite pronounced. A pronounced downward curve ends in an edge well separated from the ground. All this pursues a perfect fit in the palm to improve the feeling of control and precision.
Logitech MX Master 3
The MX Master 3 has a solid design, with a fine assembly in which we can see few joint areas. Although the edition we bring you for the review is graphite, you can also find the mid-gray model.
M1 and M1 are individual pieces in its upper part, while the Scroll and the mode change switch are embedded in the central body.
- This machined steel scroll rapidly rolls into a free spin when it reaches a certain speed.
- With the manual shift button, we can click to toggle between gradual spin and free spin modes.
On the left side, for its part, we have a fin for the thumb in which that smooth, striated roughness that is born from the hump writes a slight curve.
We can see three factors: the side scroll wheel, two action buttons, and an informative LED. A third tactile switch is also on the fin, indicating a slight pill-like relief.
It’s worth noting that the entire centerpiece is indeed plastic-effect in structure, although the top cover has a slightly grainy, rubbery feel.
The surface on the right is smooth and button-free, fitting comfortably in the palm of our hand.
If we turn it over, the base has a protective sticker that informs us about the connectivity options and the possibility of synchronizing the mouse with up to three monitors using the Logitech Options software.
Removing the sticker finally reveals the design of the base. Here we can see a total of four surfers. Meanwhile, the USB type C port is in the front area for the charging cable.
Regarding connectivity, turning on the MX Master 3 automatically activates its wireless connection via Bluetooth. The background of the slider switch is colored red and green, depending on your activity.
Further down, after the sensor, we can see the last switch, which allows us through the Logitech above Options software to establish interaction between three different devices.

Should You Upgrade!
Is the MX Master 3s worth the upgrade. i think for most people it is not worth the upgrade. The body style is exactly the same the weight is the same pretty much everything is the same except tracking, and if you didn’t have an issue with tracking before, then MX Master 3s is not necessary.
The other difference is that the MX Master 3s is 90 pecent quieter, that’s really only something you can decide. While it is quieter i can also say that the clicking feels softer so when i’m clicking feel softer then this type of uh sharp clicking on MX Master 3.
if you decide to keep your MX Master 3 i think that’s still a great decision because if the tracking never bothered you on the MX Master 3 then the bump up to 8000 dpi is not going to be a game changer for you same with the quietness if you manage to do with the loud clicking on the MX Master 3 then maybe it’s not worth going to the 3s.
