These are a custom colorway of the AKG 702 s and they are a very simple straightforward pair of open-back reference monitors. So what that means is in terms of features there’s not a whole lot of crazy stuff going on here we know a lot of consumer headphones like to mess around with you know bass ports and dials and adjustable sound. These are just about as simple as it gets just a clean no-frills pair of headphones the one thing you do have gone for them though is comfort.

This is one of the most comfortable pairs of headphones you’ve ever worn you kind of feel like you could wear them for hours and not even notice you’re still wearing them which is exactly what you want with reference monitor headphones. Because you’ll be wearing them for a long period of time while you work the cups are big and they go completely around your ear and then the foam on the inside is super soft like almost sort of like memory foam. So it holds its shape and moves slowly doesn’t get sweaty like leather it’s nice and then they’re super lightweight. We still do like a little bit of padding on the top of most headphones these aren’t padded but it saves weight and the mechanism for how adjustable.

They are super simple it’s just really flexible it slides freely so no notches or anything. And then the headphones can fit all types of head shapes from you know kids head to a huge head whatever. So you drop it on your head and that thin leather band just kind of holds it up there and the headphones are light enough that they’re super comfortable like we said also the earcup foam is so thick that they prop the actual inside of the headphone completely off your ears. So the inside of the ear cup is just kind of this empty space that the sound seems to come from it’s more popular with bigger headphones.

The build quality as we always do first we mean you can kind of hear that’s pretty good even from something that’s using so much plastic. There seems to be we don’t know if the headband is metal but it might be metal. But it looks like just really hard plastic and you’ve got leather on the headband here which is good, not genuine probably pleather. This price point we don’t know for sure about that either they don’t listen that once on the website that we could find you have velour earpads.

Talk about comfort in a second but it’s a very plastic you build but it’s a very solid building. Like we said we’re going over the build quality the other thing that’s nice as you can find replacement parts for this pretty easily through Sennheiser especially the pads that tend to wear out easy to replace. What’s great about Sennheiser’s they’re very easy to repair if you had to you can just be removed and replaced the pad in like five seconds there maybe not all the way but almost any way.

It is a pair of lightweight headphones and that drastically would have affected the comfort which by the way is amazing we expect obviously this is a Sennheiser with velour pads and it weighs almost nothing kinda clamps almost none what do you expect crap you’re not gonna get crap here this is Sennheiser we’re talking about and maybe this might be the most comfortable in the price range.

One cool thing about the wired headphones you do not any worry about the connectivity range and the connectivity range only depends upon the length of the cord provided with the headphones.

Which is better!

Both of these headphones are pretty good in terms of design and build. They both don’t have many fancy features like noise cancellation and stereo effect but they did their work very firmly. The AKG K702 is more lightweight and also sounds pretty much better than the Sennheiser HD 59. Also, they have served at a different price point in the market so it is very up to the budget of the buyer.
